The Analytics section in Orbit gives you an overview of your store’s performance, including sales, orders, customer behaviour, traffic sources, conversion activity, and fulfilment progress.

This area is useful for understanding how your store is performing over a selected period and identifying where customers are coming from, what products are selling, and how visitors are moving through your online store.

Accessing Analytics

To access Analytics:

  1. From the left-hand menu, go to Analytics.

The main Analytics dashboard will open.

Use the filters at the top of the page to adjust the data you want to review.

At the top of the Analytics page, you can usually change:

  • Currency

  • Comparison period

  • Date range

  • Export options

  • You can also refresh the page to load the latest data.

Key Performance Cards

At the top of the Analytics page, Orbit displays summary cards for your main store metrics.

These include:

  1. Gross Sales

Shows the total value of sales generated during the selected date range.

This card also compares performance against the selected comparison period, allowing you to quickly see whether sales have increased or decreased.

  1. Orders

Shows the total number of orders placed during the selected period.

This helps you monitor order volume and understand whether your store activity is increasing or decreasing.

  1. Average Order Value

Shows the average value of each order.

This is useful for understanding customer spending behaviour. For example, if total sales are increasing but average order value is decreasing, customers may be placing more frequent but smaller orders.

  1. Returning Customer Rate

Shows the percentage of customers who have returned to place another order.

A higher returning customer rate can indicate stronger customer loyalty and repeat purchasing behaviour.

  1. Total Sales Over Time

The Total sales over time chart shows how your sales have changed across the selected date range.

The chart compares:

  • Current period

  • Previous period

This allows you to quickly identify sales spikes, quiet periods, and overall trends.

You can use this section to understand when sales activity happened and compare current performance against a previous timeframe.

  1. Total Sales Breakdown

The Total sales breakdown panel gives a clearer view of how your total sales figure is calculated.

This section is useful when you need to understand the difference between gross sales and final total sales.

For example, if your gross sales are high but total sales are lower, discounts or returns may be affecting the final value.

  1. Total Sales by Sales Channel

The Total sales by sales channel chart shows where your sales are coming from.

The chart displays the percentage and value generated by each channel.

This helps you understand which traffic sources are contributing most to your sales. For example, if most sales are coming from direct traffic, customers may already know your store or be visiting through saved links.

  1. Total Sales by Product

The Total sales by product panel shows which products generated sales during the selected period.

Each product line displays the product name and sales value.

This section helps you identify your best-performing products and understand which items are contributing most to your revenue.

You can use this information to support decisions around stock planning, promotions, product visibility, and marketing activity.

  1. Sessions Over Time

The Sessions over time chart shows how many visits your online store received during the selected period.

A session represents a visitor’s interaction with your store.

This section helps you understand traffic patterns, including when visitors are most active and whether store visits are increasing or decreasing compared with the previous period.

  1. Online Store Conversion

The Online store conversion panel shows how visitors move through your store before completing a purchase.

This is useful for identifying where customers may be dropping off.

  1. Conversion Rate Over Time

The Conversion rate over time chart shows how your store’s conversion rate changes across the selected period.

Conversion rate measures the percentage of sessions that resulted in a purchase.

This section helps you understand whether visitors are successfully converting into customers and how this compares with the previous period.

  1. Orders Fulfilled Over Time

The Orders fulfilled over time chart shows how many orders have been fulfilled during the selected period.

It may also show pending fulfilments, helping you understand how many orders still require action.

Exporting Analytics Data

Orbit allows you to export analytics data from the Analytics page.

To export data:

  1. Go to Analytics.

  2. Select the required date range.

  3. Choose the comparison period if needed.

  4. Click Export.

  5. Select the available export option.

Why Analytics Are Important

Analytics help you understand how your store is performing beyond just looking at individual orders.

By reviewing your analytics regularly, you can:

  • Track sales performance

  • Identify best-selling products

  • Understand where customers are coming from

  • Monitor conversion rates

  • Find where customers drop off before purchasing

  • Review fulfilment performance

  • Compare current performance against previous periods

  • Make better decisions around marketing, stock, pricing, and store improvements

The Analytics dashboard gives you a clear picture of what is working well and where improvements may be needed.
