Customers | Importing & Exporting Customers

Move your customer list in or out by CSV — with column mapping on the way in and filters on the way out.

The Customers page has Import and Export at the top right — your list is never trapped and never tedious to load.

Importing

  1. Prepare a CSV with one row per customer: name, email, and whatever else you have (phone, address, marketing consent).

  2. Select Import and upload the file.

  3. Map your columns to Orbit's fields in the mapping editor — you tell it which column is the email; it does not guess.

  4. Confirm and let it run. Large imports process in the background with progress shown; any rows that fail come back with the reasons, so you can fix and re-import just those.

Exporting

Filter the list first if you only need a slice (a segment, a date range), then Export. The CSV carries the visible customer data — names, emails, marketing status, order counts and spend.

Tips

  • Do a 10-row test import before the 10,000-row one — mapping mistakes are cheap at that size.

  • Customer passwords never migrate between platforms (they are hashed one-way) — imported customers set a new password on first login. Tell them in your welcome email.
