Disconnecting a supplier in Orbit ends your connection with them, so you stop receiving product updates and can no longer raise new purchase orders. Products you have already imported stay in your store but stop syncing.

You might want to disconnect a supplier when you no longer wish to sell their products, or when you no longer want to receive stock, pricing, and product updates from them.

How to disconnect a supplier

To disconnect a supplier:

  1. From the left-hand menu, go to Suppliers.

  2. Open the connected supplier you want to disconnect.

  3. Select the Settings tab.

  4. At the bottom-left of the page, click Disconnect supplier.

A confirmation message will appear asking you to confirm that you want to disconnect. Click Disconnect to confirm, or Cancel to keep the connection in place.

What happens when you disconnect

Disconnecting a supplier does not remove the products you have already imported. Those products remain in your store, but they will no longer be kept in sync with the supplier. In practice, this means:

  • Imported products stay in your catalogue and remain on sale, but stop syncing with the supplier.

  • You stop receiving stock, pricing, and product updates from the supplier.

  • You can no longer raise new purchase orders with that supplier.

Because stock and pricing will no longer update automatically, you will need to keep the details of any imported products accurate yourself once you have disconnected.

Be careful when disconnecting

Disconnecting a supplier affects how your imported products behave, so it is worth pausing before you confirm. Make sure you no longer need automatic updates or purchase orders from the supplier before you go ahead. If you only want to stop certain changes from coming through automatically, you can adjust the connection's automation settings instead of disconnecting entirely.

Reconnecting later

Disconnecting is not permanent. If you change your mind, you can reconnect to the supplier at any time from the supplier directory under Suppliers, and resume importing products and receiving updates.
