Page Builder | Category Grid

The Category Grid element displays your store categories together in a tidy grid or list. Use it to help customers browse by category and find the section of your store they are looking for. It is a clear way to guide people into your catalogue straight from a page.

Adding a Category Grid

To add a Category Grid to your page:

• In the toolbox on the far left, click Elements.

• Open the Ecommerce group and find Category Grid, or search for it.

• Drag it onto the canvas and drop it where you want it.

Content settings

Select the Category Grid and open the Content tab in the settings panel to edit:

• Categories — the categories shown in the grid. Choose which categories to feature, and reorder them so the most important ones appear first.

• Number to show — the maximum number of categories displayed, so the grid stays the size you want.

• Link base path — the part of the web address each category links to, so clicking a category opens the right page.

• Open in new tab — a toggle that chooses whether category links open in a new browser tab.

• Placeholder image — an image shown for any category that does not have its own picture, so the grid always looks complete.

The Category Grid shows live content from your store. Choose a data source in its settings — until you do, it shows a placeholder on the canvas.

Design settings

Open the Design tab to style the Category Grid, including the number of columns, spacing between items, rounded corners, and how each category name and image are presented, so it fits the look of your page. For a full explanation of the Design and Advanced tabs, see the Element Settings guide.

Why this is useful

A category grid helps customers navigate straight to the products they care about, making your store easier to shop and putting your main collections front and centre.
