Inventory | Fulfilment Workbench

The Fulfilment Workbench turns a pile of paid orders into a disciplined dispatch run: batch them, pick with a consolidated list, verify each unit by scanning, and ship — with a failure on one order never blocking the rest. Available on the Enterprise plan.

Batches

Create a batch by selecting orders on the Orders list and choosing Create fulfilment batch. Each batch — “Morning dispatch run”, say — shows its status, order count and progress (packed and shipped counts) right in the list. The Backorders tab holds lines waiting on stock.

Running a batch

Open a batch and work top to bottom:

1. Pick list / Packing slips — print the paperwork for the run from the top right.

2. Pack — the workbench takes one order at a time. Scan each unit's barcode or type its SKU and press Enter to verify it, or Mark packed without scanning when a barcode will not read. The verified counter (0/2, 1/2…) stops short picks and over-packs.

3. Ship — Buy labels with the batch-default courier service, or Mark as fulfilled for orders you ship another way. Shipping spend accrues on screen as you go.

Shipping runs one order at a time with per-order results — a label failure on order three never blocks order four. The header keeps the tally: To pack, Packed, Shipped, Failed, Skipped and Total.

Tips

• Scan verification feels slow until the first time it catches a wrong item before it reaches a customer — keep it on for anything valuable.

• Batch by carrier collection time: a 11:00 “Royal Mail run” and a 15:00 “DPD run” beat one mega-batch at 17:00.

• Cancel batch releases its orders back to the pool without touching the orders themselves.
