The Discounts section in Orbit allows you to view, search, edit, and remove the discounts in your store. From the discounts list you can see each discount's status, type, value, and usage at a glance, and make changes whenever you need to.

Accessing Discounts

To access Discounts:

  • From the left-hand menu, go to Commerce.

  • Select Discounts.

The Discounts page will open, showing the list of discounts in your store.

Discounts overview

The Discounts page shows your discounts in a table. Each row represents a single discount, and the columns are:

  • Discount — the discount's title, with its code shown underneath.

  • Status — the current state of the discount (Active, Inactive, Scheduled, Expired, or Draft).

  • Type — how the discount is calculated, such as Percentage, Fixed amount, Free shipping, or Buy X Get Y.

  • Value — the amount taken off, for example 10% or £5.

  • Usage — how many times the discount has been used against its limit.

  • Start date — the date the discount becomes active.

  • End date — the date the discount stops applying, or a dash if it has no end date.

Understanding the statuses

The Status column tells you whether a discount is currently working at checkout:

  • Active — the discount is live and customers can use it now.

  • Inactive — the discount has been switched off and cannot be used.

  • Scheduled — the discount is set to start on a future date and is not yet live.

  • Expired — the discount's end date has passed and it can no longer be used.

  • Draft — the discount has been created but not yet made active.

Reading the Usage column

The Usage column is shown as a count followed by a limit, for example 482 / ∞ or 367 / 1000. The first number is how many times the discount has been used, and the second is the usage limit you set when creating it. An infinity symbol (∞) means the discount has no usage limit and can be used any number of times.

Searching and sorting

Use the Search discounts field above the table to find a discount by its title or code. This is useful when you have a large number of discounts.

To change the order of the list, click the sort button next to the search field. You can sort by Created, Code, or Type, and choose Ascending or Descending order.

Editing a discount

To edit a discount, click its row in the table, or click the actions menu (⋯) at the end of the row and select Edit. The discount opens on its edit page, where you can update the title, code, value, requirements, eligibility, usage limits, active dates, and combinations.

After making changes, click Save in the top right to apply them, or Discard to undo any unsaved changes.

Activating and deactivating a discount

The status dropdown in the top right of the edit page lets you switch a discount between Active and Inactive. Set it to Active to make the discount available to customers, or Inactive to switch it off without deleting it. Remember to click Save for the change to take effect.

Deleting a discount

To delete a single discount, click the actions menu (⋯) at the end of its row and select Delete. You will be asked to confirm before the discount is removed.

To delete several discounts at once, tick the checkbox next to each one you want to remove, then click Delete in the bar that appears above the table and confirm.

Be careful when deleting discounts, as this cannot be undone. If you only want to stop a discount being used for now, set it to Inactive instead of deleting it, so you can switch it back on later.

Why managing discounts is important

Keeping your discounts up to date helps make sure customers only ever see offers you intend to run. Reviewing the list regularly lets you spot discounts that are about to expire, switch off promotions that have ended, and check how often each offer is being used.
