The Security section in Orbit Commerce allows you to manage your password, two-factor authentication, and security preferences, while the Activity Log lets you review a history of all changes made to your store.
From here you can change your password, enable an extra layer of protection with two-factor authentication, and view an audit trail of recent activity across your account.
Accessing Security settings
To access Security settings:
From the left-hand menu, go to Settings.
Select Security.
The Security Settings page will open, where you can manage your password and two-factor authentication.

Changing your password
In the Change Password section you can update the password you use to sign in to Orbit Commerce.
To change your password:
Enter your existing password in the Current Password field.
Enter your chosen password in the New Password field.
Re-enter the same password in the Confirm New Password field.
Click Update Password to save your changes.
Use the eye icon at the end of each field to reveal or hide what you have typed. We recommend choosing a long, unique password that you do not use on any other service.
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. Once enabled, you will be asked for a one-time code from an authenticator app each time you sign in, so your account stays protected even if your password is discovered.
The Two-Factor Authentication section shows your current status, which is Disabled until you turn it on.
To enable two-factor authentication:
Click Enable 2FA.
Scan the on-screen QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. The app will generate a time-based one-time password (TOTP).
Enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm the connection.
Save the backup codes you are given somewhere safe. These let you sign in if you ever lose access to your authenticator app.
Once enabled, the status will change to show that two-factor authentication is active. Keep your backup codes secure, as each one can only be used once.
Accessing the Activity Log
The Activity Log records a history of all changes made to your store, so you can see who did what and when.
To access the Activity Log:
From the left-hand menu, go to Settings.
Select Activity Log.
The Activity Log page will open, showing a history of all changes made to your store in the last 30 days.

Understanding the Activity Log
Each entry in the Activity Log records a single change. An entry displays:
Actor — the user or system that made the change.
Action — the type of change that was made, such as a role being assigned.
Scope — where the change took place, for example at store scope.
Time — how long ago the change happened.
Filtering the Activity Log
You can narrow down the log to find the entries you need using the controls at the top of the page:
Use the Search activity field to find entries by keyword.
Use the All Types filter to show only a particular type of activity.
Use the All Actions filter to show only a specific action.
Use the All Users filter to show changes made by a particular user.
Exporting the Activity Log
Click Export CSV to download the current activity as a CSV file. This is useful for keeping your own records or reviewing changes outside Orbit Commerce.
Why Security and the Activity Log are important
Keeping a strong password and enabling two-factor authentication helps protect your store and the data it holds from unauthorised access. The Activity Log gives you a clear audit trail, so you can spot unexpected changes quickly and understand exactly what has happened on your account.
By using these settings, you can:
Update your password whenever you need to
Add a second layer of protection with two-factor authentication
See a history of recent changes made to your store
Filter activity by type, action, or user
Export the activity history for your own records
