Settings & Configuration | Order Numbering

Order numbers are how you, your customers and your accountant refer to every sale. Set the scheme once at Settings → Store Settings → General → Order Numbering.

The controls

• Format — the numbering scheme (the default is plain sequential: 1001, 1002, 1003…).

• Prefix — text before the number (LO- gives LO-1042). Multi-store operators use a per-store prefix so numbers never collide across stores.

• Suffix — text after it (a year marker like -26).

• Next order number — where the sequence continues from. Migrating from another platform? Start above your old store's last number so history never overlaps.

A live preview on the page shows exactly what the next order will be called before you save.

Notes

• Changes apply to new orders only — existing orders keep their numbers. That's deliberate: invoices and records reference them.

• Keep the format boring and sortable. Fancy numbering schemes entertain you once and confuse everyone forever.
