Products | Media, Images & Alt Text

Add, reorder and manage product photos — and the small alt-text habit that helps SEO and accessibility.

Product photos live in the editor's Title & media section. Your plan's media allowance shows on the upload control (for example, 1999 of 2000 images remaining).

Adding images

  1. Select Add media to upload from your computer or pick from the media library — or drop image files straight onto the section.

  2. Add as many as the product needs: every angle, the detail shots, the in-context photo.

Ordering and the primary image

Images show their order under the section: drag to reorder. The first image is marked Primary — it is the photo customers see in listings, search results and social shares, so put the strongest one first.

Alt text

Every image carries an alt text — the description screen readers speak and search engines read. Write it as if describing the photo to someone on the phone: “oak lounge chair with oatmeal wool seat, side view”, not “IMG_2041”. Products with complete images and alt text also pass the storefront readiness checks used by AI shopping channels.

Tips

  • Keep one consistent aspect ratio across the catalogue (square works everywhere) so grids stay tidy.

  • Reuse shared images (size guides, lifestyle shots) from the media library instead of uploading duplicates — one file, many products.

  • Digital products: attach the deliverable itself in the Digital files section, not here — media is for marketing images (see Products | Product Types).
