Adding an announcement bar

The Announcement Bar element adds a slim strip to a page, usually at the very top. Use it for one short message customers should see first, such as free delivery, a sale or a delivery notice. You can add a link to it.

Add the element

1. Open the page in the page builder.
2. In the toolbox on the far left, click Elements.
3. Click the Basic group, or search for Announcement Bar.
4. Drag Announcement Bar onto the canvas and drop it where you want it.
5. Click the element on the canvas to open its settings, then click the Content tab.

Content settings

The Content tab has three groups.

Message

• Announcement Text: the message shown in the bar.

Link

• Show Link: adds a link to the bar. The next two fields appear when it is on.
• Link Text: the words shown on the link, for example Shop now.
• Link URL: click it to open the Edit Announcement Link window and set the address. You can also choose to open the link in a new tab. The panel then shows Opens in new tab.

Options

• Dismissible: adds a close button so customers can hide the bar.
• Text Alignment: Left, Center or Right.

Design settings

The Design tab has Colours, Message and Typography groups, plus the spacing settings every element shares. Use them to match the bar to your brand. For the Design and Advance tabs in full, see Using the element settings panel.
