The Stock Transfers section in Orbit allows you to move stock between your own locations and keep your inventory accurate as goods travel from one warehouse or shop to another.
From here you can create a transfer, choose the origin and destination, add the items and quantities you want to move, and track the transfer through each stage until it is received.
Accessing Stock Transfers
To access Stock Transfers:
From the left-hand menu, go to Products.
Select Inventory, then open Transfers.
The Inventory Transfers page will open, showing any transfers you have created.

Transfers overview
Each transfer is shown as a row in the table. The transfers list displays:
Transfer # — the reference number Orbit assigns to the transfer.
Status — the current stage in the transfer's lifecycle.
Origin — the location the stock is being moved from.
Destination — the location the stock is being moved to.
Items — the number of items included in the transfer.
Created — when the transfer was created.
A transfer can be in one of the following statuses:
Draft — created but not yet submitted; can still be edited.
Pending — submitted and ready to be shipped.
In Transit — shipped from the origin and on its way to the destination.
Partially Received — some, but not all, of the items have been received.
Received — all items have arrived at the destination.
Canceled — the transfer was cancelled before shipping.
Filtering and searching transfers
Use the Status, Origin, and Destination filters to narrow the list down to the transfers you want to see. Use the Search field to find a transfer by its reference number. Active filters appear as pills above the table, and you can clear them all using Clear all.
Creating a transfer
To create a new transfer:
Click Add transfer.
Under Locations, choose an Origin Location to move stock from.
Choose a Destination Location to move the stock to. This must be different from the origin.
Under Items, search by product name, SKU, or barcode and select the items you want to move. You can only add items that are held at the chosen origin location.
For each item, enter the Transfer Qty. The quantity available At Origin is shown so you do not move more than you hold.
Add any Notes about the transfer (optional).
Click Save as Draft to keep the transfer for later, or Save & Submit to create and submit it in one step.
The transfer lifecycle
A transfer moves through a clear set of stages, and Orbit adjusts your stock levels automatically at the right moments:
Draft
The transfer is created but not yet active. While it is a draft you can still edit the items, quantities, and locations.
Submit (Pending)
Submitting a draft marks it as Pending, confirming the transfer is ready to be shipped. No stock is moved yet.
Ship (In Transit)
Clicking Ship deducts the items from the origin location and marks the transfer as In Transit. The stock is now considered to be on the move and is no longer available at the origin.
Receive
When the goods arrive, you record what was received. Stock is added to the destination location as you receive it. You can receive items in more than one go: if only part of the transfer arrives, the status becomes Partially Received and the remaining items can be received later.
Received
Once every item has been received, the transfer is marked as Received and the lifecycle is complete.
The transfer detail and receiving items
Open any transfer to view its detail. The detail page shows the transfer number and status, the Origin and Destination, the dates the transfer was Shipped and Received, any notes, and a table of items listing the Quantity, the amount Received, and the amount Remaining for each one.
The actions available depend on the transfer's status. A draft can be edited, submitted, or cancelled; a pending transfer can be shipped or cancelled; and a transfer that is In Transit or Partially Received can be received.
To receive items, click Receive Items. Enter the quantity received for each item, then click Receive Items to confirm. The received stock is added to the destination location, and the transfer status updates to Partially Received or Received depending on how much has arrived.

Cancelling a transfer
A transfer can be cancelled while it is a Draft or Pending. Open the transfer and click Cancel, then confirm. Once a transfer has been shipped it cannot be cancelled, so check the details carefully before shipping.
Why stock transfers are important
Stock transfers give you an accurate record of inventory as it moves between your locations, rather than goods quietly disappearing from one place and reappearing in another. Because Orbit only adjusts stock when you ship and receive, your available quantities stay correct at every stage.
By using stock transfers, you can:
Move stock between your warehouses and shops in a controlled way
Keep available quantities accurate while goods are in transit
Receive shipments in full or in parts as they arrive
Track every movement from draft through to received
