Velocity, days of stock and run-out dates per item — the planning view that tells you what to reorder before you need it. Enterprise toolkit.

The Inventory Planning table is really a forecasting tool: it reads your sales history per item and turns it into “how long until this runs out”. Available on the Enterprise plan.

The forward-looking columns

  • Velocity/day — the sales rate: units leaving per day, per location.

  • Days of stock — available ÷ velocity: how long current stock lasts at that rate. This is the column to watch.

  • Run-out — the projected date it hits zero; filter and sort by it to see the most urgent items first.

  • ABC class — each item's share of your sales, so the forecast attention lands where the money is.

Turning forecast into action

Compare days of stock against your supplier's lead time: when days-of-stock approaches lead time, it's time to buy. The reorder point automates exactly that comparison and flags the item Reorder — then Create purchase order takes the flagged items straight into a PO.

Tips

  • Forecasts read history; a product that launched last week has no meaningful velocity yet. Give new lines a couple of weeks before trusting their numbers.

  • Seasonal spikes break naive velocity — raise safety stock ahead of known peaks rather than trusting the average.
