Bookings | Setting Up a Bookable Service

Turn a service product into something customers can book: duration, capacity, lead time and buffers that drive the booking calendar.

Consultations, fittings, classes, repairs — any service becomes bookable when its product is of type Service. The Service details section (Type extras) drives the storefront booking calendar.

The settings that shape bookings

  • Session duration — the length of one slot. This is the calendar's unit: 60 minutes means hourly slots.

  • Capacity per slot — 1 for one-to-one work; more for group sessions (a 10-seat workshop sells ten bookings per slot).

  • Lead time — the minimum hours of notice you need. 24 hours means nobody books tomorrow morning tonight.

  • Buffer between bookings — the changeover gap so back-to-back slots are actually deliverable.

  • Payment type — pay in full at checkout or take a deposit (see Bookings | Deposits & Cancellation Policies).

Availability comes from Service Hours

Duration and buffers define the slots; Settings → Service Hours defines when slots exist — your weekly opening times and closures. Together they produce exactly the bookable grid you can actually honour.

Tips

  • Test-book your own service after setup — one run through the calendar catches duration and buffer mistakes instantly.
