Settings & Configuration | Transferring Store Ownership

Move a store to a new owner, or hand it to an agency to manage your billing — without exports, downtime or losing history.

Selling the business, handing over to a partner, or putting an agency in charge of billing? Settings → Transfer Store handles both moves. Only the store owner sees this page.

Transfer ownership

  1. Enter the new owner's email and select Send transfer.

  2. They receive an email to accept — they can create an Orbit account if they do not have one.

  3. On acceptance the store moves: your saved payment method is removed, the new owner adds their own, and the current plan runs to the end of its period before their billing takes over.

Everything else — products, orders, customers, settings, history — stays exactly as it was. Nothing is exported or rebuilt.

Move to an agency

  1. Get the agency's code or ID from your contact there.

  2. Enter it and select Send request. The agency approves the request from their dashboard.

Once approved, the agency manages the store and covers your plan — you keep working in it as normal.

Tips

  • A transfer is not instant — the clock starts when they accept, so warn the new owner to expect the email (and check spam).

  • Add your accountant or business partner as a team member before transferring if they need continuity — team access does not carry assumptions across.

  • Because the plan runs to the end of the current period, transferring just after renewal wastes the least money.
