Products | License Keys

Digital products that act like software — apps, licences, activation codes, membership keys — need a unique key per buyer. The License Keys section of a digital product handles it.

Setting up keys

1. Open the digital product and go to the Digital files section (Type extras).

2. Under License Keys, select Generate Keys.

3. Choose how many to create — generate a comfortable buffer ahead of expected sales.

Each order for the product draws a fresh, unused key and delivers it to the customer with their download. Used keys are marked against the order, so one key can never be sold twice.

Managing the pool

The section shows your key inventory at a glance: how many are left, which went to which order. When the pool runs low, generate another batch — an empty pool is the only failure mode, so keep an eye on it before promotions.

Tips

• Generate at least a promotion's worth of keys in advance — fulfilment never pauses to make more.

• Void a compromised key and reissue from the order rather than refunding by default.
